Most people these days might say that one thing they can’t live without is their Smartphone. For people who existed before the birth of such devices may admit that the Smartphone is not that essential. It would matter most for those generations who have existed in this modern day era.
What really is the big deal of having a Smartphone these days? A fifth grader would say Smartphones are for tiktoking, or facebooking. Not knowing its main purpose as a means of wireless communication.
Social media, the most powerful way of communication these days yet the most abused and often wrongly used. It can bring a lot of possibilities depending on the type of person who uses it. It creates a higher level of socialization. It can make someone famous or an instant celebrity. Sadly it ruins other people’s lives maybe because they were too attached with their personal life.
The internet is only 39 years old since it started officially on January 1, 1983. This is a new way of communication for computers to talk to each other using a universal language. Its main purpose is for sharing information to different networks and eventually to provide access to data and communications globally.
Smartphones are more useful of course with internet connection. Cell phones have radically changed from mere calling through texting to having the capability to connect to the World Wide Web.
When the internet has become widely accessible, it gives way to different lifestyles of different generations. The Millennial generation for example has been noted as the internet generation. They have existed mostly simultaneously with the birth of the internet. They are the ones who know a lot about how to make a living with the internet.
The old generations who are lucky enough to witness and experience such proof of innovating technology might have hopes of different possibilities. Don’t be surprised if your 60-year old neighbor will learn to trade with crypto currency because my 63 years old mother is learning and researching about bitcoin for a couple of months now. Indeed Smartphones are one thing we can’t live without but for different personal reasons.
The current generation may have forgotten that the internet is the backbone of social media and blogging platforms. And yet they are not fully aware that without the internet their Smartphone might be useless.
The internet is responsible for all of this adaptation of modern living by different generations. It breaks down from handheld devices to apps that make it more convenient to live a life with ease and comfort. Most importantly it connects, reunites and finds the lost.
We are only adapting social media half the year of the internet’s existence and yet a lot of possibilities have come to materialize. Apparently humanity is entering into a new world virtually. However some people would still choose to live a life without the internet and yet they are living normally and happily.
